Quick Tip of the Week

Posted Nov 17, 2007

Small weeds in a garden bed are a fact of life, but covering them with mulch or a mulch-substitute can save huge amounts of time and effort. Collect used grass clippings in a catcher the next time you mow the lawn and spread it in a layer thick enough to cover the weeds. The bottom layer of grass will decompose and act as a natural fertiliser, while the top layer will prevent weeds from reaching sunlight.
