Quick Tip of the Week!

Posted Aug 23, 2006

Before using mosaic tiling, there are a few things to be aware of.  First of all, make sure the surfaces you intend to use them on are free of cracks and are stable.  Mosaics will simply come off if the surface flexes in any way.  Secondly, make sure that the surface is smooth and flat, otherwise your mosaics will reflect the bumps in the surface beneath.  Finally, although mosaics are water resistant, they don’t hold well when applied to surfaces that soften when they become wet, such as wood. To avoid this, make sure you apply your mosaics to a cement surface.
