If a hot or cold tap is either too stiff or turns too easily, you can often easily adjust it by prising off the top and adjusting a screw. If a tap is stiff, it may require dismantling and cleaning - just remember to put the plug in the plug-hole; the last thing you want to do is lose a irreplaceable screw!
