Ava celebrates her proud moment

Posted Jul 11, 2013

As news talks of the troubles in this world, lets take a moment to notice the good that is around us every single day. If we need to think to remember what pride and achievement looks like, we only have to look at this talented young lady.

As I sit in a coffee shop writing an article that has to hit press, I get distracted and how glad I am that I did. If you're wondering why I'm here, I've lost my internet connection at my office following cable theft. It is thought the thieves were two young boys so just as I am wondering what is happening to our world, a swathe of pride engulfs this little corner thanks to Ava Karanth.

Ava is wearing her medals - yes plural - and clutching two sparkling trophies. Ava has just won 1st, 3rd, two 4ths and a 5th at an Irish dance feis (competition)

While industry debates the need for women on boards, isn't this too little too late? All too often the talent pool simply isn't there because we've forgotten to encourage and nurture talent...in whatever field it may be. Ava reminds us all that we all need to strive if we want success saying "practice, practice, practice". Then we have earned our right to enjoy it.

So congratulations Ava and we thank you for reminding us all what matters.
